The new Hacienda project has been underway since May 15, 2005 and was rapidly nearing completion at the end of January. Pushing our contractor, Phil Bailey, to the limit, we were determined to move in at the end of February come hell or high water. Our closing date for the sale of our condo was scheduled for March 1, so we had no wiggle room. We were able to get a mover lined up for February 27, so the deadline was set. Several days prior to the appointed day, Annee and I loaded up our trailer and moved all we could move on our own into the garage and shop. Then, on February 27, the movers came, loaded up all the big furniture, and got it delivered, unloaded, and placed in just 8 hours. Talk about a full day! Thanks to Annee's sister Sherrill and her daughter Jodi, they got everything unpacked and put in place so we could move in for real! Everyone was whipped from a full day! Thank goodness Donny brought out Pizza for everyone to chowdown on. 'Bout dark 30 that nite, Lil Annee and I crashed in our brand new bedroom for the very first time. Tired tho we were, it were so quiet and peaceful it were hard to get to sleep. Once we did, we slept soundly. At first lite I was up to greet our local mule deer herd peeking in our bedroom window to see who had moved in. Now that we were finally in, the real work began unpacking crates that had been stored two years. Sherril was a godsend helping Annee sort and decorate. Its been a month now and finally everything has found its appointed place. We still have a few subs coming and going to finish up piddly stuff, but a brand new home we're finally in!!!! Now that the inside is fairly well tooken care of, I can concentrate on finishing up my outside landscaping. Much has already been completed, but a lot remains. The following pictures give you a good view of all the rooms decorated, as well as the present state of the exterior. Once all is done, we'll give you an update. Meanwhile, we're enjoying our ole Spanish Hacienda!!!
