September saw old Virginia frens Dale & Dom Mauney and Dian Mitchell fly in for an all too short visit. We had lots to pack in for their week visit, so we started off by taking them down to Delta for the Ute Mountain Pow Wow. None of them had ever hoped to attend a genuine Indian gathering, and they thoroughly enjoyed the pagentry displayed that afternoon. Dale even got to meet Chief Turkey Feathers, who wanted to induct her into the tribe.

During that all too short visit, we showed them the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and took a day trip down to Telluride for lunch, the gondola ride, and lots of shopping. Another day we took in Ouray and the obligatory hike into Box Canyon Falls. The remainder of the week was devoted to good meals and just plain catching up with ole frens. Hopefully it wont be another seven years before they come back to visit.
