Websters dictionary describes a hooch as a hut, but this hooch is the one and only Jerry “Hooch” Houchens, an ole frat brother from Hampden-Sydney and long time fren. You can see a pic of Hooch in a previous article this site http://sundancesafaris.net/2009/ut/index.html . At our reunion in this article, Hooch started talking about coming out here for a visit. He finally got it worked out and came out for a week.

We took in Black Canyon and all the sites close by. Got him on a 4 wheeler and pretty quick he took to it like a duck to water. The highlight of the trip was a 4 wheel trip up Emogene Pass to 13,500 , with side ttips to Governor Basin and Yankeeboy. It was an all day deal and, coming from sea level, Hooch was oxygen starved at times.

I took lots of pics, but unfortunately, none turned out, so weve got no pictorial records for the site. It was great seeing the ole boy again and having several days to catch up. Annee & I will see him in May when we go to florida for her reunion.
